In 2006 the Globe Inn celebrated its success on the pub side, focusing on what makes a great pub an even better one -- the best kept local and guest ales at sensible prices, sport, music, games and lots of fun. For 2007 the strategy is more of the same!

Our efforts on the real ale front were recognised by CAMRA again this year with our inclusion in the Good Beer Guide 2007, the only pub in Lostwithiel to be listed. We're really proud of our entry in the guide and the fact that, in partnership with our suppliers, we have tried to keep bar prices as low as possible. After three years of no price increases, we did finally have to raise the price of a pint of real ale by 10p in June 2007.

The Globe has also, for the first time, been awarded a main entry in the Good Pub Guide 2007. Only the top 10% of pubs make it into this bible for pub lovers, so w're really proud to be a new entrant for the 25th anniversary edition of the Guide.

And to top it all off, in February 2007 the Globe won the Morning Advertiser's Best Food Pub in Great Britain Award 2007 for the South West Region of the UK. Will & Jo Erwin attended the glitzy, all expenses paid award ceremony in London on the 1st of February, 2007.

Wednesday is music night at the Globe Inn and we've got some great groups scheduled to play over the next couple of months. Favourites like Skeleton Crew, Just Plain Myrtle, Jez Luton, Tony & Sue and Dave Stickland will continue to raise the roof on a regular basis, with new groups scheduled in for a Globe Inn debut over the summer.

Lostwithiel Carnival Week was a great success last year and should prove even better in 2007. This is a week full of fun and activities for everyone and the party atmosphere will be non-stop throughout the week. One of the highlights is the Street Party, which will be on Thursday, 21st July, sponsored by the Globe Inn - live music, street entertainment, an outside bar and lots of other events are scheduled to provide a fun day and evening for all ages.

Other events to note are our popular weekly quiz nights on Sundays, starting at 8.30pm. The Globe sponsors darts and football teams, and another brewery tour is in the planning stage.
